BIEL and its concept arose from the realization of a need
in the market for a mega-scale facility for International Exhibitions
and Conferences in the Middle East.
|
BIEL was chosen to host "Le 9ème
Sommet de la Francophonie Beirut2001" (The 9th Francophone
Summit Beirut 2001), in October 2001 which included 60 heads of
states and heads of delegations, 120 ministers, 128 members of the
Lebanese parliament, 60 ambassadors and 2500 other VIP attendees.
Although this event was postponed, BIEL will continue to bring together
people from all over the world, to meet and create successful and
prosperous opportunities.
Since opening its doors on 28 November 2001, BIEL has subsequently
hosted several events, including the "European Beauty Pageant
in the Middle East" (MISS EUROPE 2001) which welcomed over
thousands of visitors.
